Where we are located?
We’re based in Salinas – Asturias, a coastal town well-known in the surf scene for the consistency and quality of its waves. Just 5 minutes by car from Avilés.
Our facilities are located at Calle La Unión, Nº 4.How can I book a surf course or surf camp?

Do the classes, courses or surf camps include equipment?
Yes! We’ll provide all the gear you need to surf — you just need to bring your swimsuit, flip-flops, and a towel.
Do I need to know how to swim?
It’s highly recommended, but not strictly required to get started. You’ll always be in safe areas, with a qualified instructor close by.
How big are the surf lesson groups? Are there different levels?
Our classes are personalized, and we adapt to each surfer’s level — from absolute beginner to advanced and competition level.
We keep a maximum ratio of 7 students per instructor, and we organize groups by age and skill level.
All lead instructors at Horizon Surf School are Spanish and European champions, and former members of the Spanish national surf team, having competed in world and European championships.
We’re also fully certified in surf instruction, sports education, lifesaving and rescue.
What should I bring to a Surf Camp?
Nothing fancy — just your swimsuit, flip-flops, towels, toiletries, sunscreen, a hoodie for the evening, and most importantly, the desire to have fun and meet new friends!
Can I join the Surf Camp alone?
Absolutely! You can come on your own or with friends. At our surf camps, you’ll meet others who also came solo and people who came in groups.
The vibe is always great — and you’ll leave with new friendships and tons of surf memories.Is there parking near the Surf Camp?
Yes! The surf camp is located on a quiet street in Salinas, where you can easily park your car without any problems.
Is the booking deposit refundable if I cancel my spot at the surf camp?
The booking deposit is non-refundable in case of cancellation by the client. Payment of the deposit implies acceptance of these terms.
Is the Surf Camp close to the beach?
Yes — and that’s one of our biggest advantages. The surf camp is located just 6 minutes walking from the central part of the beach.
What are the facilities like?
We’re based in a private villa with a large garden that gets sunlight all day. It’s fully equipped with everything you need for surfing, and you can use the gear anytime you want.
The house is set up hostel-style, and we also offer a double room option (ask us for availability).Can I use the Surf School’s gear after class?
If you are taking part in a surf camp, the use of the surf equipment will be included and available whenever you want.
If you have only booked surf lessons, you will need to return the surf equipment once the lesson is finished.
Can I bring my own surf gear?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own board and wetsuit. We can even help you assess whether your equipment is right for your level.
Where are meals served?
All meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — are served at a restaurant on the beachfront promenade, just a short walk from the surf camp. They’ll take great care of you!
What if I have a food intolerance or special diet?
No problem at all. We deal with this regularly — just let us know in advance and the kitchen will adapt your meals to your dietary needs.
How long does it take to stand up on the board?
Like any sport, it depends on the person — some pick it up faster than others. But at our surf school, everyone gets it. Usually, within 4 or 5 sessions, you’ll be standing up on your board.
