CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS – SPANISH & EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS
Our surf school in Salinas is run by experienced professionals, recognized for both their competitive achievements and official certifications at national and international levels.
All of our surf instructors are certified by the Spanish Surfing Federation or the Asturian Surfing Federation. They also hold First Aid and Lifeguard certifications from the Lifesaving and Rescue Federation of the Principality of Asturias.
Our surf lessons are personalized to ensure maximum safety and progress in the best possible conditions.
All activities, both during surf lessons and throughout the surf camp, are led by Pelayo Suárez, a world-class surfer and Spanish national champion. Pelayo is a certified surf instructor and holds a degree as a Senior Technician in Physical Activities and Sports Animation. He is joined by Nel Suárez, European and Spanish champion, who is also a certified surf and bodyboard instructor, among other qualifications.
NEL SUÁREZ
He leads both the surf and bodyboard courses. Throughtout his career, he has earned multiple titles, including Junior European Champion — the first and only Asturian to win the Under-18 European Championship — several Spanish National Championships, and has been a memeber of the Spanish national surf team.
After many years competing at both national and international levels, he brings all his knowledge and experience to help you either get started or progress in the sport.
He holds official First Aid and Lifesaving certifications from the Spanish Lifesaving Federation, and is a certified Surf and Bodyboard Instructor by the Spanish Surfing Federation.
PELAYO SUÁREZ
Director of the Surf Camp and head surf coach, he is accredited as a Surf Trainer at both national and international levels. His achievements include being crowned Spanish Junior Surf Champion and representing the Spanish National Team at the World Surfing Championship in California (USA), where he competed against some of the world’s top surfers such as the Hobgood brothers, Julian Wilson, and Jordy Smith. He has also trained under renowned surf coach Murtin Dun.
He holds official First Aid and Lifesaving certifications from the Spanish Lifesaving Federation, and as the school director, he is certified as a Senior Technician in Physical Activities and Sports Animation.
ÁNGEL SUÁREZ
The heart and soul of the Surf School & Surf Camp — the guy who keeps everything flowing.
A true free surfer, Ángel’s been chasing waves for over 20 years. Always ready to jump in his van and hit the road in search of the perfect swell. He lives and breathes surfing. He’s a certified surf instructor by the Spanish Surfing Federation, and holds lifesaving and first aid certifications from both the Spanish Lifesaving Federation and the Red Cross.
SURF & OUTDOOR ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS
We’re 12 passionate surf and outdoor instructors, fully certified and ready to give you the best experience in and out of the water. All of us are qualified as surf coaches, sports technicians, and leisure activity monitors, with full lifesaving and first aid training by the Red Cross and Spanish Lifesaving Federation.
